Time Trail is a free history quiz game played as a journey across an old parchment map. A dotted trail winds through 15 countries — from the United Kingdom through France, Egypt and India to Japan, Mexico and Brazil — and every stop is a full level: first the country's story, its capital and language, its hand-drawn map and the things it is famous for, then 30 questions drawn from its history.
The questions mix five formats: head-to-head duels (which came first?), true or false, multiple choice, before-or-after against a famous world event, and name-the-landmark picture rounds with hand-drawn illustrations. Every question runs against a 30-second antique hourglass, every answer — right or wrong — comes with the story behind it, and your progress saves after every single question, so a journey can happily be finished in sittings. Earn up to three stars per country and unlock the next stop on the trail.
Travel the dotted trail on the old map, one country at a time. Each country opens with its story, its capital and language, and the things it is famous for — then you face 30 questions about its history: which came first, true or false, multiple choice, before or after, and name the landmark. After every answer you get the story behind it.
You get 30 seconds per question, shown on the hourglass. If the sand runs out, the question counts as wrong and costs a heart — but the correct answer is still revealed before you move on.
You start each country with five hearts. Lose all five and the level ends — re-read the country's story and try again. Finish a country to unlock the next one: three stars for a flawless run, two stars for one mistake, one star for two or more mistakes.
There are 15 countries and 450 questions: the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, India, China, Japan, Australia, the USA, Mexico and Brazil. More countries are being charted and will be added in future updates.
